Scholarships
For every course that runs at Uniprep one FREE place will be offered to the most deserving student. Scholarship applications will be assessed on both financial need and academic potential.
To be eligible for a scholarship you need to be domiciled in the UK and receiving the Educational Maintenance Allowance (EMA)*, which is available to all students aged 16+ who have lower family incomes and are continuing in education. You will need to provide a bank statement showing EMA was paid in to your bank account in the previous month.
You will also need to provide a brief reference from your school or college which supports your scholarship application and describes your academic potential. Your referee (who should be your form tutor/ careers adviser/ head of sixth form) does not need to restrict the reference to GCSE performance and predicted A levels, and can also discuss other relevant indicators of academic potential. If appropriate, a particularly strong case of financial need may also be discussed, but the main focus of the reference should be academic potential. Please show this information to your referee when you ask them to write your reference.
Remember, we must receive your scholarship application four weeks before the start date of your course. You need to send us:
1. A completed booking form
2. A brief reference on your school headed paper supporting your scholarship application and describing your academic potential: this should be written by your form tutor/ careers adviser/ head of sixth form
3. A photocopy of your bank statement from the previous month showing you were paid EMA
4. If you have decided to apply for discount in the event that your scholarship application is not successful, please also enclose a cheque for the relevant discounted course fee (see Discounts above for more information). We will not pay in this cheque in until all scholarship applications have been considered, and if your scholarship application is successful, we will return your cheque to you.
